Kim Anderson, CMP

Kim joined Potomac Management Resources in 2006 with a background in non-profit fundraisers. Kim works directly with each of PMR’s clients, making sure all aspects of their events are handled professionally and executed with the closest level of detail. Throughout her tenure at PMR, Kim has successfully planned and executed over 300 events and meetings. Her experience ranges from small group meetings and gatherings of 15 people, to fundraising auctions, wine tastings, and casino nights, to large scale conferences and tradeshows of over 1,000 people. Each of Kim’s clients is very different in both scope and personality. She prides herself on her ability to create close working relationships while continuing to exhibit professionalism, excellent time management, and attention to detail.
In addition to her experience at PMR, Kim has made professional development a priority. She has completed over 100 hours of educational training over the past five years, including completing the Business of Meetings Certificate Program through the American Society of Association Executives (ASAE). Kim also holds the Certified Meeting Professional (CMP) credential, conferred by the Convention Industry Council. The CMP program recognizes individuals who have achieved the industry's highest standard of professionalism and is the foremost certification of the meetings, conventions and exhibitions industry. Additionally, Kim is an active member of the Potomac Chapter of Meeting Professionals International (PMPI), and currently serves as the Marketing Chair for PMPI’s annual conference and tradeshow.
Before joining PMR, Kim spent two summers as a Special Events Intern at the Maine Chapter of the National Multiple Sclerosis Society where her main responsibility was assisting in the planning of a weekend-long bike tour fundraiser. Kim acquired donations, recruited cyclists, and organized 200 volunteers both in-office and at the event site. Kim grew up in New England, and currently lives in the Capitol Hill neighborhood of Washington, DC.
